Stone Honing in Scottsdale
Achieve a smooth, matte finish that enhances the natural elegance of your stone.
Not every stone surface is meant to shine. In fact, some stones look their best with a soft, satin-like finish that feels refined and timeless. That’s where stone honing comes in.
At Luxury Stone Care AZ, we specialize in honing marble, travertine, limestone, and other natural stones to create a sleek, matte appearance that hides scratches, reduces glare, and offers a clean, modern look.

Benefits of Stone Honing
-
Matte, Non-Reflective Finish: Ideal for modern or rustic designs where gloss isn’t desired.
-
Hides Scratches & Etching: More forgiving than polished stone surfaces.
-
Soft, Elegant Appearance: Highlights the natural character of stone without high shine.
-
Slip Resistance: A honed surface can offer more traction than polished finishes.
Our Stone Honing Process
Every honing job is customized based on the type and condition of your stone.
1. Inspection & Free Estimate
We evaluate your stone’s current condition and finish.
2. Deep Cleaning
Surfaces are cleaned to remove dirt, grime, and residues.
3. Diamond Honing
Using specialized abrasives, we gently smooth the stone to achieve a matte or satin finish.
4. Final Detailing
Your stone is carefully wiped and checked for a consistent finish.
As an optional step, before the final detailing, a sealer can be applied; this is highly recommended to protect from stains and etching.

FAQs about Stone Honing
What’s the difference between honing and polishing?
Honing creates a matte, satin finish. Polishing creates a glossy, reflective finish. Both use a similar process, but the desired outcome is different.
Is honed stone easier to maintain than polished stone?
Honed stone tends to hide scratches and etching better, but it still requires sealing to resist stains.
Can honed stone be polished later?
Yes. If you decide you’d prefer a glossy look later, honed stone can be polished to a shine.
How often should I re-hone my stone?
Every 2–5 years, depending on usage and wear.
